About these terms

These terms apply to work carried out by CJR Water Tight Roofing & Property Services, trading as Water Tight Roofing. Anything specific to your job, scope, materials, price, guarantee, is set out in your written quote, and your quote takes precedence where the two differ.

Inspections and quotations

Roof inspections and quotations are free and there is no call-out charge for a quotation. Where required we provide a photographic report so you can see the condition of the roof for yourself.

Prices are fixed once we have inspected the job. We do not work on day rates. Where work that could not reasonably be seen at inspection comes to light, for example structural timber damage once a covering is stripped; we show it to you and agree any additional work and cost with you before carrying it out.

Payment

Payment is by bank transfer or cash. Some jobs require a deposit, with the balance due on completion. On larger projects stage payments can be arranged. Payment terms for your job are confirmed in your quote before work starts.

Guarantees

Full roof replacements carry a 20-year workmanship guarantee. Guarantees on other work vary depending on the job and the materials used, and the guarantee that applies to your work is confirmed in writing with your quote.

Guarantees cover our workmanship. They do not cover damage caused by storms, accidents, third parties, alterations made by others, or failures in parts of the property that were not included in the work we carried out. Manufacturer warranties on materials are provided by the manufacturer.

Insurance

We hold £1 million public liability insurance. Details can be confirmed on request before work begins.

Access, scheduling and weather

You agree to give us reasonable access to the property and to the roof for the duration of the work. Roofing is weather-dependent: certain work, including mortar bedding and pointing, cannot be carried out safely or correctly in heavy rain, high wind or hard frost, and dates may move as a result. We will keep you informed.

Emergency call-outs

Normal working hours are Mon–Sun, 8am–5pm. We respond to emergencies outside those hours wherever we can. For emergency call-outs we aim to attend within 3 hours, depending on your location and our availability: this is a target, not a guarantee. Emergency attendance is generally about making the roof safe and stopping water entering; any permanent repair is quoted separately.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel or postpone booked work, please tell us as early as you can. If materials have already been ordered specifically for your job, reasonable costs already incurred may be payable.
