A roof inspection is a proper look at the covering, ridge, verges, flashings and, where access allows, the underlay and timber from inside the loft, followed by a plain explanation of what we found.
It costs nothing and there is no call-out charge for a quotation. If work is needed you get a fixed price; if it is not, we tell you that too.
Where required we provide a photographic report, so you are looking at your own roof rather than taking somebody's word for its condition.

What gets checked
From above: tiles and slates for cracks, slippage and delamination; ridge and hip mortar for cracking and movement; verges; valleys; flashings to walls, chimneys and roof windows; and any visible damage to the underlay where the covering is open.
From inside, where access allows: the condition of the underlay felt, the battens and the rafters, plus signs of previous or current water ingress, and whether insulation has been wet.

Photographs turn an opinion into evidence. You can see the cracked ridge bed, the torn felt or the slipped tile yourself, compare quotes on equal terms, and keep a dated record of the roof's condition.

- Usually under an hour for a typical domestic roof, depending on size and access. Larger or more complex roofs take a little longer.

- It helps, so we can show you the photographs and talk through what we found, but we can send the report and quote through if that is easier.
- Will you try to sell me a new roof?
- No. If the roof needs a repair we quote a repair. We only recommend replacement when patching genuinely will not solve the problem, and we show you why in photographs.
- Are you insured?
- Yes, we carry £1 million public liability insurance, and we can confirm the details before work begins.
- Can you come out in an emergency?
- Normal working hours are 8am–5pm and we respond outside those hours wherever we can. For emergency call-outs we aim to be with you within 3 hours, depending on your location and our availability.
